Cantium Business Solutions, a specialist provider of IT, HR and Finance solutions, has successfully equipped 5,500 Kent County Council (KCC) employees to work remotely in a matter of hours.
A response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the move was completed swiftly and effectively with no outages or failures. It enables KCC to continue delivering critical frontline services to the residents of Kent, whilst also protecting their own workforce by observing social distancing measures.
Cantium configured numerous additional devices to support employees and increased KCC’s remote working resilience and structure. Council meetings have continued to take place with the use of Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business. Several new technologies have also been deployed as part of the flexible working model, including Anywhere SIM by Cantium, which helps employees who are facing connectivity challenges to roam across all major UK networks and gain full coverage on their mobile device.
Andy Cole, Head of Technology Commissioning and Strategy at Kent County Council explains:
“The level of service Cantium has provided during this unprecedented challenge has been second to none. Due to Cantium’s expertise in enabling remote working and business continuity, KCC’s workforce have seamlessly extended its ability to work remotely without issues or system failure. Our employees have felt supported and confident in moving to this new model, and most importantly, have been able to continue to deliver critical services to the citizens of Kent.”
Mark Scott, CEO at Cantium Business Solutions comments:
“The council has a vital role to play in keeping people safe and the move to remote working has supported them to do that, while also ensuring the safety of their own workforce. As the situation evolves, we’ll continue to support KCC with their strategic initiative to further enable secure remote working.”
