SwipeStation puts fans’ Safety Thirst with unique mobile ordering service

Contact-free mobile ordering service, SwipeStation, today announces its new Covid-safe service: “Safety Thirst”.

The pandemic has forced the hospitality industry to completely rethink how large scale events are run. Distancing, minimising contact and safe delivery of food and beverage are now key considerations. There has already been a dramatic uplift in the popularity of mobile payments across so many industries. From drinking in pubs to takeaway deliveries to supermarket shopping, the pandemic has advanced attitudes to mobile ordering by a few years in just a few months.

However, none of the current mobile app solutions could succeed at mass gatherings, where mobile phones struggle for service and a lack of robust wifi equals a poor, if not failed customer experience. In addition, inexperienced, transient staff working complex till systems struggle to keep queues moving. SwipeStation, however, has been established in stadiums for years because they have a system that no one else offers and solves these issues. The solution is unique in five ways:

 

  1. It works in airplane mode. Customers do not need connectivity on their phones to create a mobile order.

  2. Customers using the system simply hand over a receipt to the server with the order printed on it – removing deliberation, ordering and payment from the service area.

  3. By turning inexperienced, transient staff into super-efficient service ninjas, SwipeStation have reduced service time to 15 seconds – and in doing so solved the problem of queueing for a drink in a large, busy venue.

  4. This system removes the need for communication between customer and server. No more shouting across the bar!

With the addition of “Stand & Deliver” – an In-Seat Delivery Service, SwipeStation can enable venues with limited attendance to serve safely and efficiently – as well as service the hospitality and disabled areas.
