Game4Ukraine is the brainchild of Oleksandr Zinchenko and will be raising money for Ukraine following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in early 2022.
Game4Ukraine’s goal is to raise funds to begin the re-building of schools across Ukraine. Currently, 1.5 million Ukrainian Children are studying remotely due to the destruction of their schools, with The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine estimating the total loss in the educational sector to be 10.6 billion USD.
There will be a huge number of football legends taking part in the game. The Blue Team will be managed by Chelsea Women’s boss Emma Hayes, who will play against the Yellow Team, who will be managed by Arsene Wenger.
Chelsea legends like Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho and Gianfranco Zola will be part of the same team as current Chelsea player Mykhailo Mudryk. Arsenal legends like Robert Pires and Jack Wilshere will be part of the Wenger-managed team.
Even more stars like Fabio Cannavaro, Cary Telford and Gerard Pique will also be taking part.
Oleksandr Zinchenko said: “The match at Stamford Bridge on August 5th will be a huge charitable event. We have a very important mission ahead of us – to raise enough funds to bring back 415 children to their classrooms at the beloved Mykhailo-Kotsiubynsky Lyceum. We thank Improbable and M2 for being part of this journey with us!
