Pioneering AI company Engine has had an overwhelmingly positive response to its game-changing new AI Self-Assessment Report [SAR] Assistant, which aims to streamline the SAR process for further education [FE] colleges and independent training providers alike.
Headquartered in London, Engine specialises in building custom AI solutions known as ‘knowledge engines’, through which clients can instantly access the benefits of top-tier natural language AI without exposing their data or relying on unreliable online information.
Engine’s SAR assistant is designed to analyse FE college and independent training providers’ data, identifying strengths and improvement areas, suggesting strategies, and even creating initial report drafts, all with built-in security and compatibility to any data inputs. This helps free up leadership teams to focus their time and efforts on assessing the results of any analysis, prioritising actions, and applying their experience and insight to finalise reports.
The new tool has already been strongly received by users, with Engine experiencing a significant uptick in enquiries from educational institutions throughout August – typically a quieter month for the industry, given that it falls outside of normal term time.
Kieron White, Co-founder of Engine, said: “We’re thrilled by the fantastic response that our new AI SAR Assistant has received from FE colleges and independent training providers.
‘This surge in interest highlights a broader trend of educational institutions embracing technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. As colleges continue to navigate the complexities of the post-pandemic landscape, tools like this, which can streamline administrative tasks, and free up staff to focus on strategic priorities, are increasingly valuable.’
Neil Watkins, Co-founder of Engine, added: “While our SAR assistant is capable of doing much of the heavy lifting, it is important to highlight that it is not designed to replace the crucial role that college leadership teams play; after all, the human touch will always remain indispensable to the SAR process. Instead, our tool aims to support leaders in their jobs, empowering them to make better informed decisions, and ensure that SARs reflect the unique context and goals of their institution.
‘AI provides the foundation, but it is the leadership team’s expertise and judgement that will ultimately shape the final document’.
Engine is set to host a webinar on Wednesday 25th September, in which it will officially launch its AI SAR Assistant, and provide an exclusive look at how it can save teams hours and days of time, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: delivering outstanding outcomes for learners. For the unveiling, Kieron will be joined by Matt Atkinson, Managing Director of FE Associates [FEA] & Chair of South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, while Liz Duncan, Vice Principal at Hopwood Hall College, will share her college’s experience using the tool.
Founded in September 2023, Engine was created to help SMEs and public sector organisations to take advantage of the opportunities created by rapidly evolving AI innovations. The team at Engine wants organisations that do not necessarily have much in-house expertise or disposable cash to take advantage of AI cheaply, quickly, and easily, without having to manage the technicalities and risks involved.
