STUDENTS were in safe hands on a visit to the headquarters of a leading business.
BTEC Enterprise and Entrepreneurship learners from Coleg Cambria’s Yale site in Wrexham spent a day at Aico in Oswestry.
Aico is the European market leader in home life safety, including alarms, sensors and leading Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, HomeLINK.
The college’s 18-strong cohort met with Aico’s Community Liaison team Laura Opechowska and Jane Pritchard and participated in discussions and tours which explored the company’s history and achievements.
They also visited various departments while working on tasks, designing a product and developing a recruitment plan.
Cambria’s Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Coordinator Judith Alexander said: “Learners explored Aico’s organisational culture and first-class facilities while developing entrepreneurial ideas, building confidence through challenges, and gaining valuable insights into various career paths.
“We are grateful for the warm hospitality at Aico, Laura and Jane went above and beyond to ensure they had a positive experience.”
She added: “Being able to visit external companies helps us enrich learning and inspire the next generation of innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs, developing insights and understanding of business processes, functions and organisational values.”
