Future Processing reveals that 84% of businesses positively evaluate the influence of Cloud on organisations in the long term

Research highlights how businesses can fully benefit from Cloud Migration opportunities

Future Processing, a leading software development company, today shares the insights of its recent pan-European survey that addresses and reports on SMEs’ willingness to migrate to the Cloud. Future Processing, together with Software Development Association Poland (SoDA), uncovered and established benefits, challenges, and best practices as seen by 130 C-level executives, IT leaders and engineers, relating to the use of Cloud solutions across Europe.

Companies of all sizes, geographies, and industries are turning to Cloud computing. It offers many benefits, including the ability to set up remotely, flexibility to connect employees from anywhere and anytime, as well as better efficiency, cost reductions and opportunities for growth. Surveying companies from DACH, UK and Polish markets, Future Processing uncovered that 84% of businesses positively evaluate the influence of Cloud on their organisation in the long term.

Even though Cloud migration brings a number of benefits to businesses, it doesn’t come without its challenges. Whether a company is looking to take advantage of Cloud only or hybrid setups, there are factors that need to be considered to ensure a successful migration. The research showed that adapting to changing business requirements and managing stakeholder’s expectations is twice as challenging for companies with hybrid Cloud setup compared to ones with all operations in the Cloud.

A one-size-fits-all approach is becoming increasingly less applicable as more and more organisations put the Cloud at the centre of their IT roadmap. Amongst its findings, the survey revealed that 90% of organisations that are ahead of other businesses in Cloud adoption, prefer less radical migration strategies, such as lift and shift before redesigning parts of existing solutions. What’s more, replacing self-made solutions with Cloud-based SaaS is growing in popularity. 30% of Future Processing’s survey respondents stated that SaaS solutions are the most attractive among all the Cloud offerings.

Many industry leaders understand that it is no longer a matter of if their company will migrate to the Cloud but when. Training internal employees is no longer sufficient, meaning organisations need to venture further afield and find an experienced partner to speed up the process, with 84% of businesses recommending partnering with software development companies for Cloud migration. Respondents also stated that the most important factors to consider when choosing a new IT partner for Cloud migration is their experience and their ability to scale.

“Future Processing operates across several European markets daily, and our research provides decision-makers with the most up-to-date knowledge, so that they can position their businesses for successful Cloud migrations in the current, uncertain economic climate,” said Krzysztof Szabelski, Head of Technology at Future Processing. “Our survey demonstrates that the Cloud is a crucial option for businesses and partnering with the right software development partner will enable the business to scale and speed up the migration process on demand.”
