A new programme to drive UK investment into Ukraine’s budding tech sector and boost trade has been launched today [5th February], as part of the UK and Ukraine’s 100 Year Partnership.

The UK government, in partnership with the Ukrainian government, is calling on UK investors to apply for the Investment Accelerator Programme in a bid to increase UK investment into Ukraine and support Ukrainian tech businesses in their recovery following the outbreak of war three years ago.

The programme will provide hands-on training such as mentoring, workshops and webinars to help innovative Ukrainian tech businesses attract UK private investment.

This initiative will help to unlock investment across the UK’s technology sector helping to fuel economic growth and deliver on the government’s Plan for Change.

The Programme is hosted by the UK-Ukraine Techbridge, a partnership between the UK Government and Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation which aims to connect UK and Ukrainian tech businesses to build resilience, continue the development of a thriving Ukrainian tech sector and create opportunities for investors.

As a major part of the economy, worth £150 billion each year, the UK’s tech sector is home to some of the most qualified investors, who have helped many growing UK businesses. The TechBridge is encouraging these same investors to now look to Ukraine’s budding tech sector which has become a key part of the country’s war effort.

The project is running over the course of 2025 and will result in Ukrainian business pitching live to UK investors.

Minister for Services, Small Business and Exports Gareth Thomas said:

“This government is committed to supporting Ukraine’s long-term recovery, which includes forging long-lasting partnerships between UK investors and Ukrainian tech businesses.

“Ukraine’s tech sector has shown incredible innovation across areas like cybersecurity, AI and cloud infrastructure in the face of war. I look forward to hearing the pitches to UK investors later this year.”

This forms part of the UK’s wider commitment to supporting Ukraine’s long-term security as set out in the 100 Year Partnership where the UK has recently announced new support totalling £55m to boost resilience and growth in the UK and Ukraine. The UK is committed to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a sovereign Ukraine for the next century.
