High five for five: Code Ninjas marks five centres hitting five-year milestones

Five Code Ninjas centres across the UK are celebrating a major milestone this month as they each mark their fifth anniversaries. The Welwyn Garden City, Langley, Eastleigh, Pinner and Enfield locations have spent the past half decade inspiring young Ninjas to embrace technology and equipping them with the skills needed for a digital future.
Since launching its first UK Dojo in 2019, Code Ninjas has grown into a thriving network of more than 35 sites nationwide. Its mission has remained the same: to help children aged 5-14 learn to code in a way that feels fun, engaging and rewarding. Guided by their Senseis, Ninjas build their own video games, experiment with robotics and tackle hands-on problem-solving challenges – discovering coding not just as a technical discipline but as a creative and empowering skill.
The five Dojos reaching this milestone have welcomed hundreds of Ninjas through their doors, many of whom have gained more than just a passion for coding. Parents frequently report that their children have grown in confidence, shown greater resilience and developed a curiosity that extends far beyond the Dojo. These qualities, combined with digital literacy, are what will help them thrive in whichever path they choose to follow.
Mark Fleming, Franchise Business Partner for Code Ninjas UK, believes it is this blend of technical learning and personal growth that explains why the centres have thrived over the past five years – and why they are set for many more to come. He said: “Reaching the five-year mark is an exciting moment for our UK network. It highlights the hard work and passion of our local teams, as well as the growing demand from families who want their children to gain vital digital skills.
“What makes these Dojos truly stand the test of time is the fact that they offer so much more than coding lessons. Parents see their children becoming more confident, resilient and curious, and that’s why they keep coming back. It’s also why I’m confident these centres will continue to go from strength to strength in the years ahead. Coding is no longer a niche interest – it’s becoming a foundation for success in the modern world.”
For Chrysoula Lazaraki, Director of Code Ninjas Welwyn Garden City, the anniversary is as much about the children’s journeys as it is about the longevity of the centre: “I honestly can’t believe it’s been five years already. Looking back, what stands out most for me are the children who came through our doors a little shy or unsure and have grown into confident young people. Seeing their faces light up when they crack a code or proudly show their parents what they’ve built is the best part of what we do. It feels like we’ve created a real family here, and that makes this milestone really special.”
Looking ahead, Mark added: “Our vision is for every Dojo to be a place where young people can explore, create and build the mindset needed for the future. The fact that these centres have thrived for five years shows just how much value families see in what we do. That longevity gives me huge confidence for the next five years and beyond.
“As technology continues to reshape our world, the need for children to develop digital skills, creativity and resilience will only grow. Code Ninjas is here to make sure they’re not just keeping pace but leading the way.”
