ScaleFibre Introduces Next-Generation Mini Loose Tube Fibre Cable Family

ScaleFibre has expanded its optical cable portfolio with the launch of a complete suite of Mini Loose Tube cables, covering capacities from 12 fibres through to 864 fibres. The range brings industry-leading compactness to a broad set of fibre counts, giving network operators greater choice and duct efficiency in metro, access, and transport deployments.
The Mini Loose Tube range follows a consistent design philosophy across all capacities, with each build optimised for size, handling and splice compatibility. The designs use ScaleFibre’s StaticGEL™ compound in mini polymer tubes. This ensures the entire suite delivers a familiar, field-friendly experience regardless of fibre count.
“Network operators are under real pressure to increase capacity without increasing duct utilisation,” said Daniel Rose, CEO of ScaleFibre. “With our Mini Loose Tube suite, we’ve built a complete system all the way to 864 fibres. Each design is compact, efficient, and field-friendly, while delivering the mechanical and optical performance expected from full loose tube construction.”
Each cable in the range retains the hallmark of traditional loose tube designs, including robust fibre protection, water-blocking, rodent resistance, and long-term reliability in harsh outdoor conditions. At the same time, the reduced outer diameters enable higher fill ratios in ducts and conduits, making the cables especially suitable for metro builds, access rollouts, and high-capacity transport routes where pathway space is constrained.
The Mini Loose Tube suite is available now globally. It is designed for applications such as data-centre interconnect, metro backbone, access infrastructure, transport networks, and nationwide fibre rollout programs.
