Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited (“Arbuthnot Latham”) is delighted to announce cyber security consultancy Alien Security as the overall winner of the fourth annual Inspiring Innovator of the Year Awards, following fierce entrepreneurial competition from three other home-grown finalists.
Based in London, Alien Security provides ethical hacking services helping SMEs to identify security weaknesses that are vulnerable to a malicious hacker. While the cyber security industry focuses disproportionately on controlling access, Alien Security focuses on data security and strengthened protections, as a first layer of defence.
Each year, Arbuthnot Latham identifies four exciting new businesses from Cass Business School part of City, University of London, all with the key potential to disrupt their chosen market. The Inspiring Innovator of the Year Awards aim to provide the platform to showcase their businesses to key industry figures across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Following an intense and exciting evening of competitive pitching from the four finalists, Alien Security was declared the winner by a critical audience including past finalists, leading investors, financiers and influencers. Arbuthnot Latham is proud to provide Alien Security with a financial award, access to Envestors’ platform and a bespoke mentoring package.
Paul Beach, Director of Entrepreneurs at Arbuthnot Latham, said:
“After our fourth and most competitive year yet, the audience has spoken, and we are delighted to congratulate Alien Security on their success. With a significant rise in the number of cybersecurity issues within organisations across the globe, it comes as no surprise that the audience saw huge potential within this important and rapidly growing market.
We thrive off innovation and creativity here at Arbuthnot Latham and are committed to supporting early stage SMEs looking to disrupt and revolutionise new markets. As such it was great to see such a high calibre of businesses participating this year. We wish Alien Security and all our other finalists well in the future. Watch this space.”
Noor Alrayes, Founder and CEO, Alien Security, added:
“It is a proud moment for Alien Security to be named as the overall winner of Arbuthnot Latham’s Inspiring Innovator of the Year Awards. We believe we have spotted a huge gap in the market. Many companies offer ethical hacking services but approach it from an information security perspective not a hacker perspective. We believe this service must be provided in a more aggressive way, exactly like hackers do.
We have learned a lot from this process and met some fascinating entrepreneurs and key players in this space. I would like to thank Arbuthnot Latham for hosting such an incredible event here at their London office.”
