commercetools, a global leader in next-generation commerce software, has announced a new partnership with Glen Dimplex Group, the consumer home appliances leader and owner of famous home brands like Morphy Richards, Roberts Radio, and Faber.
Glen Dimplex will be using the commercetools commerce platform to support the global e-commerce rollout for its brands.
One of the reasons Glen Dimplex chose commercetools was its microservices architecture. This means the group can take a step-by-step approach to e-commerce development, releasing non-transactional product catalogues first and then adding transactional capabilities later. It can then test and rollout improvements in controlled stages to ensure it can maximise sales.
commercetools’ platform allows Glen Dimplex to take ‘a white-label approach’ to e-commerce development and deployment, meaning it can build once and redeploy over and over again.
Using commercetools’ true cloud, headless and API-first commerce platform, Glen Dimplex has already released its first multi-language, multi-region site, for faberfires.com. The company plans to launch a new commerce site for its Roberts Radio brand this year, and has 30 more sites in the pipeline which will launch on a brand-by-brand basis.
commercetools’ platform also enables continuous improvement. Any improvements it makes to the core will be immediately available to all its brand sites.
By using commercetools and Acquia Site Factory, Glen Dimplex aims to enhance customer journeys by trialling improvements such as adding new features to test their impact on user experience and sales, establish a stronger brand presence and improve consistency of brand messaging globally and across all its core markets.
Matthew Stocker, digital solutions manager at Glen Dimplex said:
“commercetools offers a cutting-edge headless technology solution that allows us to progress with a microservices, modular approach to build an enterprise-level core platform for individual brands. commercetools enables us to consolidate our platform globally and gives us both the economy of scale we need and the freedom we want to explore new possibilities.”
Dirk Hoerig, CEO and Co-Founder, commercetools comments:
“We are enormously proud to partner with Glen Dimplex. A global e-commerce rollout is no easy task but our microservices, API-first, cloud-native and headless commerce platform offers everything it needs to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The project has been a huge success so far and we look forward to continuing to support Glen Dimplex as it grows.”
