Awards Recognize Deep MFA Anti-Ransomware Defense to Ensure Secured Backup Data
Asigra Inc., a leader in backup and recovery software that delivers comprehensive backup repository cyber protection, today announced that Asigra Cloud Backup with Deep MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) has been selected as a finalist in the SDC Awards 2020 Security/Compliance Innovation of the Year category. Winners will be selected through public voting online at https://sdcawards.com/vote until November 20th and announced during a virtual ceremony on December 3rd.
Now in its 11th year, the SDC Awards recognize and reward success to products and services that serve as the foundation for digital transformation. Winners are selected by the readers of Digitalisation World’s multimedia platform as well as peers, clients and other aspects of the supply chain. Asigra’s Cloud Backup with Deep MFA secured its spot as a finalist for the SDC Security/Compliance Innovation Award by the group’s editorial staff for its ability to enable or enhance secure data protection that ensures successful recoveries after a ransomware attack.
As ransomware has become a primary threat to backup data and the viability of business operations, protection against these destructive cyberattacks has become an increasing priority for managed service providers focused on reducing the damage caused by these attacks. In many of these attacks, ransomware enters the network and is backed up — where it remains silent and undetected before detonating. Then, when a recovery is required from the infected backup set, the system restores that long-hidden, dormant ransomware, triggering a costly Attack-Loop™ that can take down the IT environment. In some cases, ransomware deletes the entire backup.
Asigra Cloud Backup with Deep MFA provides step-up multi-factor authentication to protect sensitive data at multiple levels in the system. Not until the users is logged in via MFA will they be able to configure access to control which users can sign into the Asigra Management Console and other mission critical areas of the application. Passwordless sign-in is available throughout the software stack to simplify and speed access.
“Many companies today have a false sense of security that their backup will be there for them when a ransomware attack occurs. However, the reality is that these attacks on business backup data are on the rise, driving the need to protect backup repositories from criminal encryption or loss,” said Eran Farajun, Executive Vice President, Asigra. “With 100% focus on ensuring business recoveries after such attacks, we are pleased to see the highly secure Asigra platform recognized as a 2020 Security/Compliance Innovation finalist in these awards.”
Voting for the SDC Awards 2020 is open now until November 20 at 5:30 p.m. British Standard Time. Voters are limited to making only one vote per award category through a single business address only.
