Mercarto Enterprise, the Manchester-based platform software company, have announced they are working with one of the UK’s leading industrial engineering buying groups, Troy UK, to deliver a groundbreaking B2B2C platform.
Troy UK have established themselves as the leading group of industrial engineering suppliers in the UK by providing unrivalled support, procurement services and product knowledge to their members for over 30 years.
An ever-expanding portfolio of 350 members and combined selling power of £1.2 billion, after the acquisition of THS Tools, placed Troy in a strong position to invest in cutting-edge platform technology.
The goal was not only to streamline their own procurement operations but also offer greater choice, faster service and increased profitability for their members, packaged into a convenient, easy-to-use platform.
This is where Mercarto Enterprise began discussions with the buying group, putting their renowned technical expertise at Troy’s disposal and creating a bespoke platform based on their core platform technology which was designed to take customer-friendly efficiency levels to new heights.
In a breakthrough that will help reinforce Troy’s standing as market leaders, it has been built to aggregate and standardize all of their supplier data into one consolidated platform via API.
The platform itself, launching as Troy Commerce, allows members to sign in and navigate through their own dashboard to procure products from the Order Hub. Custom purchasing options, based on the buying member’s contracts and the ability to check out via invoice dependent on their agreement with Troy.
Troy Commerce is not only a global procurement hub, but also a data hub for every transaction taking place on the platform. This allows the buying group to predict buying trends and analyse customer behaviour, thus enabling them to deliver a more optimised, data driven and personalised experience to members.
Alongside the Order Hub within Troy Commerce, there is also a drag-and-drop store builder that allows members to easily design their own ecommerce stores. Members can fully customise their stores, add custom merchandising and pull products from the Order Hub with product data descriptions and images without having to manually photograph every product they have in their physical stores.
Members can also replenish their online site with products they do not have in physical stock, a process that is fulfilled by the buying group’s warehouse facility. This allows product selection across each member’s online store to be increased, along with potential revenues.
Ben Spalding, Group Operations Director at Troy Group, shared his excitement for the project, saying: “The Mercarto Technology has allowed us to bring a traditional business model into the 21st century, setting up an ecommerce presence for our hundreds of members and streamlining the buying process significantly, leveraging a number of technologies that are not available anywhere else within the market.”
