Mixilab, a tech startup based in Ukraine, has announced a new software tool in its family of products. The software, named Screen Recorder by Animotica, is a simple tool that lets users record their desktop screens and capture webcam sessions.
As the name implies, Screen Recorder by Animotica was developed to complement Animotica, Mixilab’s video editor and flagship software product. The company announced in September 2020 that Animotica had reached over 4 million installations on Microsoft Store.
According to Mikhail Babich, CEO of Mixilab, Screen Recorder by Animotica was launched as a response to requests by Animotica users who wanted a screen recording tool for various purposes.
“To make the screen recorder more accessible, we decided to launch the tool as a separate, lightweight software,” he explained, “this tool will come in handy for game streaming, product demos, webcam interviews, tutorials, and more.”
Additionally, Mikhail explained that Screen Recorder by Animotica allows users to edit their recorded clips directly in Animotica with a click of a button.
When asked about the costs of using the screen recorder, he stated that the lifetime subscription is $9.99, but the company has announced a 100% discount from day one, explaining that the software is not completely bug–free yet. Currently, all users who download the app will use it forever free as a 2021 New Year Gift from the Animotica team.
“More features are currently in the works, and future updates will include the Green Screen functionality. This feature will allow users to change the background of their recordings to make their videos more engaging and produce better results.”
