Aero Commerce partners with Zip to drive retailer growth

Aero, one of the UK’s fastest growing ecommerce platforms, today announced its partnership with global Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) provider Zip. Retailers using the Aero platform can seamlessly offer Zip at checkout, allowing their customers to pay over four interest-free instalments, joining over 6.4 million Zip customers globally.

Aero works with a network of more than 90 partner agencies who integrate the platform into ecommerce sites they build for national and international brands.

As one of the fastest-growing BNPL providers in the world, Zip’s global footprint will enable merchants to offer its flexible ‘Pay in Four’ product and more easily access customers worldwide.

Zip is chosen across many retail sectors, from homeware and entertainment to fashion, sport, health & beauty, groceries and travel.

Having recently launched in the UK, Zip was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2013 and is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. It processes $7.5 billion in payments every year and has already reached agreements with a number of major UK retailers including Boohoo, Homebase and The Fragrance Shop.

It has also entered the sports retail market with professional clubs including Celtic Football Club and Crystal Palace.

One of the first to benefit from the Aero and Zip partnership is Wave Direct, a specialist retailer of inflatables in the home, sports and leisure markets.

Tom Jeffrey, MD at Wave Direct, said: “By working with Aero we’ve been able to easily build in more features and services which provide a better shopping experience for our customers, as well as drive our business performance. We’re excited to now offer Zip as a payment option because our customers want this flexible way to pay and it’s another great reason to shop with us.”

Middlesbrough-based Aero, founded in late 2018, handled almost £100m of online retail transactions through its platform in its first year of operation. The start-up’s partnership with Zip is the latest step in its fast growth within the rapidly expanding digital sector.

Richard Bendelow, CEO and founder of Aero Commerce, said: “Zip is an excellent addition to the UK BNPL market and we were pleased to work with them to embed its four-payment product into Aero and help them manage its roll out to our Aero agency and retailer network. The flexibility of Zip’s payment solution provides consumers with a strong checkout choice, which in turn helps drive up conversion rates, average order values and customer retention for retailers.”

Belinda Mackey, Senior Partnerships Manager at Zip, said: “We share the same values and ambition as Aero’s team – to bring our retailers customer-focused technology that improves brand experience and drives growth. With Zip having recently arrived in the UK, our team has the ambition and agility of a start-up within a global scale-up. We’re perfectly positioned to help our partners and merchants to grow as we bring our global capability to market.”
