Commvault’s Metallic Celebrates One Year of SaaS Backup in EMEA

Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT), a recognised global enterprise leader in Intelligent Data Services across on-premises, cloud and SaaS environments, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of Metallic’s availability in EMEA. Metallic, the award-winning SaaS-based data protection solutions, was first introduced in the region in October 2020, and has grown from strength to strength over the past 12 months.

Originally available in the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Sweden, since its initial launch the solutions are now available in 20 countries in EMEA in total. Metallic provides customers with secure, scalable, GDPR-compliant, and cost-effective enterprise-ready data management with single pane of glass management across SaaS, on-prem, public cloud, native, and hybrid workloads. The SaaS offering seamlessly addresses growing business concerns around cost, scalability, and security as customers protect their critical data.

The solutions are in constant development to ensure that they offer customers the best services. Since October 2020, Metallic has added new data protection solutions, features, and enterprise workload support including enhanced SaaS application protection with the introduction of Metallic Salesforce Backup and Microsoft Teams recovery enhancements, and the addition of Oracle and Active Directory to Metallic Database Backup. The company has also announced the addition of Metallic Backup for Microsoft Dynamics 365, bringing no-compromise, enterprise-grade SaaS to Dynamics 365.

Shai Nuni, VP EMEA at Metallic said: “We are delighted with the speed at which Metallic has been adopted in EMEA over the past year. Providing all of the solutions that Commvault is trusted for, but with the power of SaaS, is important to us as we aim to give our customers the best possible backup and recovery solutions to aid their businesses in these uncertain times.”

He continued: “Customers are now frequently conducting audits on their data security to reduce the risk of successful ransomware attacks. More often than not, SaaS applications are presented as the biggest vulnerability to a ransomware attack. Over the past 12 months, we have been able to rapidly deploy our solution in a matter of hours to reduce the risk posed by cybercriminals.”

Metallic has experienced exceptional customer growth across EMEA in the past 12 months, with new additions including LGC (UK), Evolutio Cloud Provider (Spain), Aliscargo Airlines (Italy), Harel Insurance (Israel), and Sithabile Technology Group (South Africa).

Metallic customer Richard Moorhouse, Head of IT Platforms at LGC commented: “My backup is my crown jewels, it’s my ‘get out of jail free’ card should the worst happen…so if the other layers of my security fail, I’m turning to Metallic and to Commvault for my legacy workloads.”

Another customer, Alain Rodriguez, Head of Services Management Office at Evolutio enthused: “What I found amazing was not just the speed to roll out Metallic. Our actual experience was exactly the same as the proposed experience from the Commvault representative. Getting Metallic up and running was virtually done in minutes. This is the customer experience that we were expecting a SaaS-based backup solution would give us. With the power of Commvault and Metallic, we are confident that we are prepared for any disaster.”
