Zizo Selected As One of STL Partners’ 2022 Edge Companies To Watch

Zizo, a leading provider of big data and edge analytics, has been selected as one of the 100 Edge Companies to Watch for 2022 by STL Partners, highlighting the businesses making waves in edge computing and have exciting developments coming in the next 12 months.

STL Partners is a telecoms consultancy that helps telecom operators and technology companies innovate, grow and stay ahead of the competition. Across its Research and Consulting businesses, STL Partners has specific expertise in three industry domains – Edge Computing, Telco Cloud, and Digital Health, and aims to define how the industry can be successful and drive growth in these areas.

The 100 Edge Companies to Watch Competition takes place every year, and has continued to grow year-on-year, increasing from 15 highlighted companies in 2020, 60 highlighted companies in 2021, to 100 in 2022. With entrants spanning around the globe, including established companies and new ventures that only began last year – the list provides a rich snapshot of the growing edge computing ecosystem.

Zizo has been included in the 2022 Edge Companies to Watch, and is positioned across the board in the edge value chain including; hardware (end-device); network (IoT platform); Edge cloud infrastructure (multi-cloud platform); application/software (analytics & APIs); integration & services (systems integration, design & engineering; professional services.)

Over 2021, Zizo achieved notable milestones, including having developed an edge analysis solution for Safran Landing Systems. Safran wanted to explore advanced technology solutions that can provide better visibility both in terms of the test rig performance and those influencing the test results, which Zizo provided via its end-to-end connected edge device to provide big data capabilities.

The Edge company also provided an edge analytics platform for British American Tobacco (BAT), collecting data from multiple connected wearable devices in order to help with harm reduction. As part of the National Technology Award, Zizo, for its work with BAT, was a runner up for Best Analytics Project.

Peter Ruffley, CEO, Zizo, comments: “We’re honoured to be recognised as one of the Edge Companies to Watch in 2022. The Edge industry is continuing to grow and innovate, and it’s an exciting space to be involved in. Thank you to STL Partners for recognising Zizo among the world’s elite in edge and technology”

“At Zizo, we have many more ambitions for the next year, and aim to continue to grow and make great efforts in the Edge world. We will continue to build on our existing big data capabilities, including historical data analysis, visualisation data integration at scale, as well as our real time data analysis and sensor management to connect devices cost efficiently wherever there is power.”

Zizo also strives to break into new sectors this year, and will explore the use of solar and wind power sources to connect devices. This comes at an increasingly important time with climate change and carbon costs being high on the government agenda, but with the use of technology, Zizo are keen to be involved in the opportunity for the edge here.

Dalia Adib, Director, Consulting, STL Partners, concludes: “The growth in our Edge Companies to Watch list is testament to the progress the industry has made in the last 12 months. I truly believe we will see even higher growth in 2022, which is signified by Zizo’s developments in the edge analytics space, particularly in their plans to process analytics on even smaller edges and look at more eco-friendly ways of doing so.”
