lastminute.com launches ‘gamified’ recruitment campaign to attract new tech talent

lastminute.com has launched a unique, gamified recruitment campaign that looks to hire 100 techsperts from around the world in a bid to widen and diversify the company’s tech talent.

The drive follows the announcement that the European travel-tech leader in Dynamic Holiday Packages has returned to pre-pandemic sales with holiday package bookings up 45% against the same time period  in 2019.

Playmakers: Gamifying the job hunt

Prospective talent will be challenged to ‘Crack The Code’ to unlock the chance to win a free holiday* as part of the application process, where the candidate journey is designed as a virtual ‘terminal’ to mirror the holiday check-in process. Six trips are up for grabs from now until the end of April.On lastminute.com’s career’s site, applicants have been set a challenge in the form of a riddle to decode. They must inspect the source code then identify and submit the hidden sentence for the chance to win. Following this entry, the techspert can then apply for their chosen job role.

Hire 100The three-month social and digital campaign looks to source 100 of the ‘best in class’ tech talents from software engineers to frontend developers from across the globe, as the biggest recruitment drive in the company’s history.The new ‘pink people’ will double the development team at the company, and join a brand that reaches 60 million consumers via digital platforms worldwide every month.
