Stagecoach deploys Workday to aid digital transformation

Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, today announced that Stagecoach, the UK’s biggest bus, coach and tram operator, has successfully deployed Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) with Payroll. Stagecoach joins more than 4,000 global companies who have selected Workday HCM.

For the past two years, Stagecoach has been executing a large digital transformation programme enabled by Workday. With HR and payroll in one cloud-based solution, Stagecoach now has a single source of real-time data for its employees, helping to increase overall employee confidence in HR data held across the organisation. Stagecoach will also shortly be adding Workday Recruitment to its portfolio in an effort to standardise and streamline recruitment processes and onboarding across all departments, providing true visibility across the entire talent acquisition process.

The new Workday system gives Stagecoach’s workforce an easy way to digitally access pay information, as well as request holiday and time off. It is also helping the company’s management team to understand more about their teams, as well as simplifying and reducing lots of manual processes, spreadsheets and paperwork.

Stagecoach has worked closely with delivery partner CloudRock Partners to introduce the new Workday system.

“We are undergoing a huge digital transformation at Stagecoach and this is a really exciting step forward in this journey,” said Carla Stockton-Jones, UK Managing Director, Stagecoach. “The Workday system allows us to have one easily accessible single source of data, which is reducing the need for paper-based processes and helping to provide greater detail about our people.

“As we continue on our diversity and inclusion journey, it will also help us to see more clearly how diverse we are as a business and where we need to improve further. Not only does the system make it much easier for our managers when it comes to our people processes, but it also gives our employees easy access to things such as digital pay information and requesting holiday and time off. We’re pleased to have worked with Workday on the roll out, and we look forward to developing the system further over the coming months.”

Michael Douroux, Group Vice President, Northern Europe & South Africa, Workday, said: “It’s been an exciting journey over the last two years to help Stagecoach adapt to a changing and demanding market. Stagecoach can now unlock the power of data across the business to support its digital transformation efforts. By reducing paper based processes and simplifying payroll, Stagecoach can make faster decisions based on real-time insights about its people and is better equipped to adapt to a changing world.”
