Manchester City has announced a renewal of its partnership with Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, which will see the technology industry leader continue as the Club’s Official Cyber Protection Partner.
The club also welcome Ingram Micro as the #TeamUp partner in the relationship – an initiative by Acronis open to all service providers looking for innovative ways to grow their business and tap into the exciting world of sports marketing.
The club uses Acronis Cyber Protect, an innovative Machine Intelligence (MI) enhanced solution that integrates data protection with cybersecurity, reduces the impact of cyberattacks, and helps avoid downtime. This technology combines automation and integration, ensuring the prevention, detection, response, recovery, and analysis needed to safeguard all workloads while streamlining protection efforts. Throughout the partnership, the Club and Acronis have worked together on a number of engaging content activations for fans around the globe.
Greg Swimer, Chief Information and Technology Officer at City Football Group, said: “Manchester City has an ever increasing amount of data that helps drive our critical operations, both on the pitch and off it. This data needs protecting, and we have been delighted to work with Acronis to help us to do since 2018. We look forward to collaborating with Acronis as the partnership continues to progress.”
“Acronis has been a proud partner of Manchester City since 2018 – a relationship we continue to build and add benefits to for both our partners and customers. In this renewal, Acronis will help Manchester City significantly optimise its data management with support and protection from ransomware contributing to efficient business operations. In the fast-paced world of sports today, we are thrilled to welcome Ingram Micro to the partnership this year, and know each party will bring intensity to the partnership on and off the field,” said Ronan McCurtin, VP of Europe, Acronis.
As part of the renewal and Acronis’ #TeamUp programme for service providers, Ingram Micro, the UK’s largest cloud growth enabler of technology solutions – who supports Acronis across a variety of their sports partnerships – will receive a range of sports marketing rights to develop powerful campaigns promoting Acronis’ cyber protection services.
Ovidiu Gherghel, Director Cloud & Cyber Security, UK&I at Ingram Micro, said: “At Ingram Micro we are eager to push boundaries and see technology enable the world to accomplish more. The rapid advancement of technology in sport is not only revolutionising the spectator experience, but also advancing the strategy and accuracy of the game, pushing athletes further than they have ever been. We are incredibly proud to have teamed up with Acronis, as we continue to tear down barriers and deliver technology solutions to Manchester City.”
Through sports partnerships, Acronis enjoys a wide range of sports marketing benefits, used for the development of powerful marketing campaigns and offering unique experiences to Acronis partners and customers.
