Wessex Cancer Trust’s annual Bournemouth Air Festival hospitality event sponsored by IT consultancy, QuoStar, raised more than £32,000 this year to support local people affected by cancer.
This year’s event took place on Friday 2nd September at Key West Restaurant on Bournemouth Pier during the Bournemouth Air Festival. The event, supported by QuoStar for the eighth year running, has in total raised close to £72,000 over the years.
Attendees were welcomed with a Pimm’s on the pier, followed by a three-course lunch and some fundraising fun and games. The 180 guests then enjoyed spectacular VIP views of the Air Festival flight displays throughout the day – including the spectacular Red Arrows.
James Stelfox, Managing Director at QuoStar, commented:
“We’ve proudly partnered with Wessex Cancer Trust for the past eight years and they are an obvious choice for us. It’s important for QuoStar to support a local charity that makes a big impact in the area. Wessex Cancer Trust does so much great work in the local community, providing invaluable support not only to those living with cancer, but to their loved ones as well. They do such a fantastic job putting these events on, too! It provides a brilliant opportunity for businesses to come together and network whilst raising awareness of, and money for, an incredibly worthwhile cause.”
Sarah King, Wessex Cancer Trust’s Senior Corporate and Community Fundraiser, said:
“Once again, we held a successful corporate hospitality day at the Bournemouth Air Festival. It was wonderful to see so many businesses coming together to support Wessex Cancer Trust and finding out how they can partner with us to make a positive difference to anyone affected by cancer, whilst enjoying a fabulous day out watching the air displays.”
All the money raised for Wessex Cancer Trust at the event will be used to provide practical and emotional support to anyone affected by cancer in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The charity’s 2023 Air Show hospitality day takes place on Friday 1st September and a table of ten costs £1,200. If you are interested in purchasing a table or supporting the charity in any way – via donations or fundraising – please contact sarah.king@wessexcancer.org.uk for more information.
