Apogee appoints new CEO to spearhead customer-first growth strategy in managed workplace services

James Clark returns to Apogee from senior role with parent company HP Inc.

Apogee Corporation Ltd, Europe’s leading managed workplace services provider, has appointed James Clark as its new CEO to drive the company’s continued growth, focusing on a customer-first strategy within managed workplace services.
Clark was CFO of Apogee from the point HP Inc. acquired the business in 2018, before taking up roles at HP in 2022. From April 2023, Clark was Head of Finance in the Hybrid Systems division at HP.

“I know the journey that Apogee is on, and I shall be progressing the growth strategy developed under the fantastic leadership of my predecessor Aurelio Maruggi,” said Clark. “With the strength of a great brand like HP behind us, added to the investment we have made, Apogee is set to see strong growth in many areas of the business, especially managed IT services which we expect to double as a percentage of the business over the next three-to-five years.”

Under his leadership, Clark says Apogee will continue and indeed strengthen its focus on being a “customer-first” business, meeting the evolving needs of businesses in a fast-changing world where agility and sustainability are major priorities. He explained: “This is about taking the great service and customer insights we have to drive value. It is vital we remain focused on being a trusted and indispensable partner for our customers.”

Apogee has enjoyed a string of major milestones in the last year, including the acquisitions of Datatron and Argon to extend the capabilities and scale of its core services. In 2023, the company recorded significant growth in many of these service areas, including managed print services (28% growth), outsourced document services (25% growth) and managed IT services (24% growth).
On this, Clark commented: “The product offering has matured incredibly. As a customer-first company we must use our insights to meet the unmet needs of our customer base by knowing our customers almost better than they do.”

Clark first joined HP as Head of Finance Western European Markets in 2017. Prior to this, Clark spent 16 years of his career at Procter & Gamble in Finance and General management, progressing from Cosmetics Cost Manager to Finance Director, and then Business Information Security Leader, in a career path that took him around the globe from Ireland, to London, to Singapore and then to Geneva and most recently, back to London.
