StorMagic Appoints Julian Chesterfield as Chief Technology Officer

Edge storage and virtualization industry expert brings two decades of experience to accelerate innovation and growth

StorMagic®, solving the world’s edge data problems, has announced the expansion of its executive leadership team with the appointment of Dr. Julian Chesterfield as chief technology officer (CTO). This significant appointment comes at a pivotal time in the company’s development, growth and innovation this fiscal year.

Based in Cambridge, U.K., Dr. Chesterfield has a Master of Science from University College London and a Ph.D. in computer science from Cambridge University. At Cambridge, he was one of the creators of the Xen OpenSource hypervisor that was ultimately acquired by Citrix Systems. Following this milestone, Dr. Chesterfield founded the hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform, and served as the company’s CTO to support its growth. During his career as CTO and technology architect at companies such as Xensource, Citrix, and OnApp, he has developed hypervisor, software-defined storage and application management technologies.

Dr. Chesterfield retains deep domain knowledge and will be responsible for driving technology innovation and expanding the engineering team.
