Speakers at TechNExt event include DWP, Intel and Northumberland County Council

Newcastle, 29th May 2024: Scrumconnect Consulting, the award-winning digital technology company, is hosting an exclusive event aimed at redefining government efficiency and inclusivity through digital public services. Designing the Future: Shaping Tomorrow’s Public Services will bring public sector digital delivery leaders and technology innovators together, including DWP Digital, Northumberland County Council, National Innovations Centre for Data and Centre for GenAIOps.

Part of Newcastle’s TechNExt festival, the event will be hosted at The Boiler House in Newcastle on 18th June. The full-day programme will feature a number of insightful sessions:

• Fireside chat on public sector innovation – An in-depth talk with Richard Corbridge, CDIO and Director General of DWP Digital, discussing emerging technologies and the future of public services.

• Beyond the Buzz: Realising the Potential of GenAIOps – Jack Perschke, Founding Director, Centre for GenAIOps, will cut through the GenAI noise, separating the genuine innovation from the hype, discussing how GenAIOps is delivering real-world innovation that is revolutionising industries.

• Designing for Everyone: The Path to True Accessibility – Craig Abbott, Design Manager at Elastic and ex-Head of Accessibility at DWP, will cover the state of the current landscape when it comes to accessibility and user-centred design, discussing inclusion and why it’s up to industry leaders to define the future.

• A panel discussion on public sector delivery – Jack Perschke and Craig Abbott will also be joined by industry experts including Fay Cooper, Head of Product at Northumberland County Council, Mac Misiura, Data Scientist at the National Innovation Centre for Data, Steph Clish, Head of Product at Wordnerds and Paul Wealls, Business Development & Partners Intel Tiber Edge Platform, for a panel discussion on delivering effective public sector digitisation.

“The Newcastle tech scene is absolutely thriving and it great to be part of the TechNExt festival. In recent years we’ve seen major government departments, such as DWP and HMRC, moving portions of their operations to the city – making it the ideal location to discuss public sector digitisation,” said Praveen Karadiguddi, CEO at Scrumconnect Consulting. “It will be a great opportunity to hear from leading experts about new approaches and technologies such as Gen AI will help to shape public services and enhance the citizen experience in the future.”

Scrumconnect Consulting has recently expanded its presence in the North East, opening an office in the heart of Newcastle. The office will create 150 jobs in the region and inject £40 million into the local economy over the next four years.
